Note

The “Confirmation” Page is a normal page inside your wordpress admin panel. You can go to “Pages” » “Show All Pages” to see it. If you delete it, the growtheme won’t work properly. But you can edit the slug (URL) and title of the page however you like.

You have the following Options

The Double Opt-in Process

The usual Double Optin Process of all Email Providers looks like this:

  1. A visitor enters their email address anywhere on your blog
  2. The visitor gets redirected to a “Confirmation” Page
  3. The visitor has to open his email client and find your confirmation email
  4. The visitor has to click on the link inside your confirmation email to confirm their email address
  5. The visitor is added to your email list and gets redirected to a “Thank You” Page

This page is the “Confirmation” Page shown to your visitors in the second step of the double opt-in process.

This settings section has two different parts. One for completely new subscribers and one for known subscribers.

What’s the difference? Occasionally it can happen that a users enters their email but doesn’t gets your confirmation email or simply forgets to confirm their email. This user maybe never gets beyond Step 2 of the double opt-in process.

If this user comes back to your site and enters their email again to join your email list, the growtheme will recognize this user and send them another confirmation email.

So the first part of the page is for completely new subscribers and the second part of the page is to show a different message to subscribers who haven’t confirmed their email address yet.

Download Shortcode

It is important that you include inside your custom text the [download] shortcode.

This shortcodes created the download button in case a user subscribes through a Post Specific Bonus.

Note

If the user subscribes through a opt-in form without a bonus no download button will be shown.

Note

The Double Optin Process of most email service provider doesn’t allows to send an email before the user has confirmed their email. Therefore it is not possible to wait until a subscriber has confirmed their email to show them the Downloadable Bonus.

Maybe you loose some low-quality subscribers to the double opt-in process. But take in mind that you improve the usability of the remaining high-quality subscribers as you comply with their expectations to start the bonus download immediately after entering their email.
